Your favorite soccer team is playing and you are looking for a great atmosphere to watch the game while having a great blackberry margarita. Zocalo is definitely the place! People begin to get here early to make sure they get front row seats at the bar. Soccer fans are definitely among the loudest fanatics in sports, some people show up with drums, horns and vuvuzelas, and of course wearing the jersey of their supporting team, the place definitely turns into a mini Brazilian carnival.
I often wear a jersey to bring the party into the bar. The bar fills up pretty fast and people are ready to start jumping and screaming for their team. People show up to Zocalo to support European tournaments, Gold Cup, Copa America, and women’s soccer. It seems that soccer is beginning to become a much more popular sport by the day. The games get loud and exciting, but my favorite part of the game are the celebrations when teams score a goal. Vuvuzelas and drums go off, people jumping when they are screaming gooaalll, and their faces are full of emotion, rage and pride- it’s awesome to watch.
Soccer games and fans at Zocalo definitely bring the place alive to it’s loudest. I think having the games at Zocalo is awesome, not a lot of places show soccer games. The property is pretty big, so even if there is a lot of people, there is still room for everyone. There are televisions and bartenders at three different key locations, so no matter where you are sitting you can still get a drink or food and watch the game. Next time your favorite team is playing, you should join the Zocalo family for a soccer party!
